Dealer just emailed me about the Remote Start for 2014

That isn't at all how remote starters work. The minute you touch the brake, it shuts off and if you don't have a key, you can't kick it out of remote start mode. So if you managed to open the locked door/break the window, you couldn't keep it running without the key present.
I had a G35, I'd have to get in with the proper key, press the start button twice and then step on the brake and it would kick out of remote start mode but stay running. Eliminates needless restarting. Even factory remote starters don't shut off.

I open the drone app
Press the Engine Start 'button'
I get a confirmation that the Drone has received my request
The car starts
Then I receive a message that my car has started and will run for 15min
The car Icon on the app turns to Green when the car is running - when the car is not running the icon is grey
Now here is the part some folks don't like
The app does not update the vehicles status regularly you have to request the status update. To me its not a big deal.
When you ask for the update it will update the following:
Cart status - running or not
GPS location - drop a pin on a Map as well give an physical address - fairly accurate
Battery Voltage
Interior Temp - if so equipped.

You cant change it, it is a security feature.
I had the Compustar with Drone in my 14 IS250 at least a month before Lexus announced having the ability to add a remote starter.
The Drone is great...no external antenna, no limit on range, GPS tracking capable - which qualifies for a discount on most insurances, and a host of other features.

Warranty void with aftermarket RES?
I've called at least 3 local Lexus dealers. All claim nothing is available for a 2014 IS regarding Remote Start.
Today, one claimed that they are testing the 2015 RES to see if it would work on a '14. This same dealer told me an aftermarket RES WOULD VOID THE CAR's warranty.
Another Dealer told me they would not sell aftermarket parts at all.
Some local alarm and sound shops claim to be able to install aftermarket RES for $500 to $550.
