You'll need to purchase the update and then whatever your local Lexus shop charges you for an hour or so of labor. I've seen various price quotes for the labor. Post #4 on the attached thread has some pricing for the software only.

Are you referring to map data (updates to get new POIs, roads, etc.) or about the system firmware?
You should pay for the former, but not the latter. I'll be asking for the latest firmware update when I go in for my 12 month service in a few weeks.

Both actually. What does the firmware really update? I was hoping it could add dynamic guidelines to the backup camera, but that seems like a stretch.

I would not expect to see a dynamic grid lines update on the '14 IS.

For firmware, think bug fixes and performance enhancements. A number of us are still experiencing system crashes, blue flashing screens, and slow performance. These issues would be addressed via firmware updates.

Ask for Cabin Air Filter
At 10K service (complimentary/paid by Lexus) specifically request to have air cabin filter replaced. Some delears dont do it unless you request, at which point they get surprised.
