2015 is350 f sport loose shifter ****
Hey guys, I have a 2015 is350 f sport. I don't know if this is normal, but my shift **** is very loose. I can literally take my thumb and pointer finger and turn it either way with almost any pressure. If it's not normal, is there a way to tighten it without having to take it to the dealer? When I turn it, the leather seems to be attached, and turns with the shifter when I turn it to the right to tighten it. Any help would be appreciated

Sorry guys for this post, I'm a dunder head! I just pulled the leather down and there is a plastic clip tat popped down. I tightened the ****, and pulled the leather and clip back up and snapped into place. Easy fix!

Suddenly I have the SAME PROBLEM with my 2014 IS350. I just picked it up from the shop to have the snow tires put on, and the damn **** spins around now. I also noticed on the Motor Trend site that their long-term IS350 has the same issue. It's probably a common problem. I just can't seem to fix it as easily as you did.
When you say "pulled the leather down," did it move down easily? Mine won't budge!

Never mind. I figured it out. The leather section actually snaps apart with a small amount of force. Then you just have to spin the **** around to tighten. No idea how it could possibly have come loose in the first place...

I was able to detach the leather from the ****, but now, after tightening, it faces the wrong way. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Right when I got my car it was loose...would spin to left or right. After reading this, I was able to tighten it, but I had to spin it a few times...the last turn to make sure it wouldn't move was a bit nervewracking because i was scared I would crack or strip it. But it turned out fine. So much happier now that the **** isn't spinning around! I guess the assembly team needs to be instructed on how many spins to give the ****.

Same problem here. I Held the leather as close to the top as I could and pulled straight down with a little force. The leather will snap off. Then I turned the **** until it was tight and snapped the leather back up. Do not attempt to tighten the **** without taking the leather down.

does anyone have a video clip of how this is done? I couldn’t figure it out. Have same issue on a GS350 we just bought.
