My sd card is not reading.
I brought a 2014 lexus is250. It came without the sd card. The dealership ordered one and sent it to me. When I install it, it states not reading and to contact dealership.

The card will need to be programmed by the dealer to enable nav specifically for your car. You can't just put in any SD card from another IS.

He said the dealership ship him an SD card. It should be brand new and ready to go. It does not need to be programmed by the dealership. To the OP, you may need to go the nav settings and kick off the update.

Potentially it's the wrong card.
Do you have the part number from the back of the card?

It's been stated a number of times that the SD card is "married" to the unit when it is first installed.
However, I took a SD card from a 2017 Sienna that was a write off and put it into my 2014 Highlander...the card loaded without issue and everything is functioning normally months later.
So if the "married" statement is true, maybe it depends on the vehicle/navi system they are referring to.
Brand new cards come "unmarried", therefore they can be installed into anything the first time at least.
The process of installing a new card is simply to insert it with the vehicle off, and then turn the vehicle on...then follow the on screen instructions.
I believe once it loads everything the first time, it then requires the ignition to be cycled and then you are good to go.
Nothing can, or needs to, be done with the Techstream or anything else...it's literally plug and play.
