Dealer required customized settings
Has anybody had the 3 blinks for lane change adjusted to 5 or 7 blinks by the dealer? Or better yet, is there a way that we can do it without the dealer? I know that GS owners (I don't know what year) are able to change theirs. And, I recall instructions to retrieve the navigation firmware version on our cars and was hoping someone knew how to change the number of blinks.

Dealer only adjusting LPS or getting a copy of the OBD cable and use TIS Techstream Lite to do it.

Do this, it may sound confusing and take a few times. Reread and try again if it fails.
1.) Ignition off, doors closed
2.) Hold the wiper switch in the full up position. (this is the wiper off position)
3.) While holding the wiper switch in the full up position, turn the IG on. (two presses of the start/stop switch)
4.) Hold wiper switch in the full up position for 5 seconds
5.) Move the wiper switch down one "click" or "notch", hold for 5 seconds
6.) Move the wiper switch back to the full up position, hold for 5 seconds
7.) Move the wiper switch down one "click" or "notch". hold for 5 seconds (same position as step 5)
8.) Move the wiper switch back to the rest position (neutral)
If this was done correctly, the right turn signal will flash once.
To adjust how many flashes you want, you change the intermittent wiper speed switch. P1 starts with the speed switch all the way at the bottom, P4 will be the top speed. This is found on the wiper stalk.
P1: 3 blinks
P2: 5 blinks
P3: 7 blinks
P4: Function turned off
Set the intermittent wiper speed to the desired setting.
Use the Turn Signal stalk and push down like you want to activate the left turn signal, the flashers should activate
If the turn signal blinks once, you change it to the "3 flashes" setting
If the turn signal blinks twice, you changed it to the "5 flashes" setting
If the turn signal blinks three times, you changed it to the "7 flashes" setting
If the turn signal blinks four times, you turned the function off.
Once this is done, cycle the ignition switch off, and back on, and it should be changed.
I know this is confusing. I have done it to a few customer cars, and mine. The first one took a bit to understand, and I have given you the cliff notes. The repair manual is confusing as hell.
Good luck. If there are problems I will try to walk you through it.
BTW: regards to the above comment, this function cannot be changed through the Tech Stream. The method I posted is the only way it can be changed.

i was going to change mine, but i try to avoid using my turn signals! as soon as you use one on the highway some clown comes up to cut you off! so i prefer the stealth and surprise approach, i signal as i am already making the lane change. therefor 3 blinks is plenty.

Kudos to those who use blinkers when driving.
I had the dealer do mine, they gave me a loaner for it.
Also had them check my Nav issue, problem still remains.
I thought I was the only one.

When I had my 3IS, Lexus of Westminster said "they couldn't change it to 5 blinks". This option was only available on the GS or something like that.
And that was from 2 different locations. The first time they said no was when I picked up the car. The 2nd time was when I brought it in for the software update.
