Battery ramdomly dead today?
I woke up today and tried starting my car and all the accessories came on but it would not turn over. I carefully checked and I didnt leave anything on overnight. Very weird.
I jumped it and drove it around for 30 minutes and now it starts like nothing ever happened.
Should I be worried? Take it to dealer? Ignore it?

The chatter must go something like:
FOB: "Hi there. How's it going?"
CAR: "Good. Thanks. How are you doing?"
FOB: "OK. Just checking in."
CAR: "Great."
FOB: "Checking in."
CAR: "Checked."
FOB: "Checkaroni?"
CAR: "Yes."

I noticed a faint, medium-high pitched noise coming from the engine bay when installing new license plate frames with the key fob in my pocket. I could only hear it when I crouched down near the front of the car. It had to have been at least 30 minutes since I turned the car off as well.
Another thing with proximity is the bluetooth system. My fiancee drove my car home one day while I was on the phone, and my phone paired to the car and sound was redirected. I had no idea what was going on until she came in and was confused why a ghost voice was talking in the car.

I asked the same question. Something about the fob and car communicating with each other. When asked why it consumed so much energy, she didn't know.

So what is "near"? I park my car in the garage and put my key in a drawer in the house. it's probably less than 20 feet apart through couple walls. Just wondering if this will be an issue for me when I get my car.

I asked her the same question and she said behind a door or wall should be fine. I keep mine in a cabinet behind a door.

My build date is April 2013
I havent had any issues since that day. I really am not sure about the remote thing, as my garage is at least 100 feet away from my house and I know I had both key FOBS with me. If it happens again, I am definitely going to the dealership and getting a new battery.
Anyone else here have this happen?

The sensors should only pick up the key fob signal within about 3 feet of the car.
I keep my keys around 15 feet away and have not yet had any issues.
