Which HID to match DRL...
Hi everyone,
The OEM HID is abit of the yellowy side.
Which HID would best match the DRL and with the best output?
I was thinking to change them to 5000K?
Thanks.

Ideally my guesstimate is a ~5300-5400K bulb if it existed would perfectly match the DRLs color. If I had to choose again today, tough choice since do I want to be a little more yellow or little whiter than the DRLs???... Still, I think I would choose the 6000K since the 5000K looks only slightly whiter than the stock 4300Ks . Search HIDPH for posts on all lighting differences.
Good luck

I put 6000K and they're noticeably whiter than the stock HID 4300K. They look great however they are a little whiter than the daytime LED DRLs which now make the DRLs a tiny yellowish in comparison.

After reading around, I've decided to go with 5000K as I would still like to have better output.
Hopefully it would be close enough match to the DRL.

does it match up with the DRLs?
if you have a pic, that would be great
as i'm wondering the same question now!

Wow, looks 99% perfectly matched, much better than my 6000Ks. Thanks for posting the pic essentially confirming the hunch.

Sweet! Looking good with the 5k. I have a retrofit done on my CT and went with Osram CBI and it's perfect as well. Too bad Lexus is going with the mercury free D4S bulbs now . . .

Hey danzeit, has this improved the actual light output of the HIDs?
I picked up a 3IS 350 F Sport last week and noticed the lights, while good, aren't great for what I've previously experienced with HIDs
Was wondering if it would be worth upgrading to 5000k to get a bit more brighter light out of them....

But I do like how it matches with the DRLs without compromising output too much.
I feel the same. My 2011 350 has much better output.

I too had a 2011 350 F Sport and while i haven't had it for a little over 12 months, I remember those being a lot brighter/better.
I also have a new Mazda 6 Wagon and the HIDs on that have a lot better light output as well as adaptive/cornering functionality. I wish the Lexus also had this feature.
