Sooo I was driving and then heard a loud pop. I started noticing a new sound so when I parked my car I did some investigating. It's coming from the part in the picture below. It's attached to the radiator. I took a video of the sound. It's a little hard to hear but you can hear it. Its not the ticking but almost like a gurgle/grinding. Could the flow of coolant be making that noise? It's never sounded like this until the loud pop. I probed that metal block that the cap is attached to with a screwdriver and the vibrations match the sound. Any insight?

Did a little more investigating. Looks like the actual cause of the sound is the water pump pulley which means the loud pop was most likely something in my water pump as well. *sigh* good thing I have a new water pump that has been sitting in my closest for several months lol Not really looking forward to replacing it myself... any tips?
