TPMS not updating data from sensors....wonder if all sensors are bad?
I tried helping a friend by connecting my techstream to his is350. It displayed all 4 sensors functioning. He had them outside the tires like mine. One had zip ties applying pressure and showed 33lbs of pressure and the others were showing 1-2lbs of pressure and no zip ties.
The problem is when I applied pressure to the others....nothing changed. When we took off the zip ties to the one showing 33lbs of pressure...nothing changed. It kept displaying the same 33lbs. I programmed my set to his ecu as the 2nd set and everything worked fine which tells me his system works and my sensors work.
How the heck could all 4 of his sensors simultaneously be bad and why would they register as communication with air temp and some pressure but not update? Is this what happens when the batteries are low?
I told him to order 4 of ebay like I did and I'll program them. His car is a 2006 so the sensors are 9 years old. It just seems odd that if the battery was dead then they shouldn't communicate at all unless the battery is low and this is a symptom of a low battery.
