IS250 AWD Preventative Maintenance @ 100k
Hi,
I come over from the BMW world with an '06 IS250 AWD and 100k in mileage. It has been a great car (wife's), and the local dealer service has been nothing short of amazing when needed most (unlike BMW, lol)
The car recently developed a slight vibration in the 60-65mph range, feeling like it is rooted in the rear suspension, since it vibrates more through the body rather than steering wheel or brake pedal, so while going in and fixing the issue, I am planning on giving the car some TLC and do any of the pending preventative maintenance on wear items that could be questionable....
Areas I'll usually service on the BMWs consist of front/rear control arm bushings, ball joints, engine and trans bushings, shocks and shock mounts.... does this list translate over to the Lexus IS?
Any cooling/engine items to do at this time? Thermostat? I figure a radiator flush, trans, brake flush etc is due.
Thanks!

I've got a few of those covered already, thanks.
Some poking around shows a recommended look at the shocks for replacement around 100k mi. Any thoughts on bushings and ball joints?

Well, the idea is to replace them before there's an issue. When I was younger, I'd hack around and wait for stuff to go kaput before addressing, but that becomes a frustrating endeavor since now you're replacing/repairing on the terms of the problem. By understanding the life cycle of wear items, I can replace them ahead of whatever that average lifespan is, so that I'm doing the work on my own terms, so parts failures are least disruptive/annoying to my schedule and enjoyment of the car.
