You would need to ask yourself a question then. Are you happy with the current paint condition on the front hood? The 3M clear bra would not fix those chips. It will only prevent future chips and also preserve the current conditions. That is why it is I applied the 3M clear bra when I first bought my car brand new and my front car still look new like first day after 3 years.

I think you better repaint the front, wait a week, and then apply the 3M clear bra.

I'm not sure on the removal but I think the longer it stays, the harder it is to remove. In the first few years, I think you can peel it right off but after many years, it requires heat gun and professional removal.

Do you think I should still get it done with the chips already there? Most have been 'self repaired' by the previous owner, but are definitely a DIY job.

How easy is it to remove the clear bra in the future?

Thanks

I might just do the headlights since I already have some stone chips on my hood and alot on my bumper. But in a way it seems silly, its like saran wrapping your car. Like people saran wrapping remote controls or couches from the 70's. Lol.
3M is a film you want to avoid. Suntek and Xpel Ultimate are the two best films out. Both are self healing and MUCH smoother than 3M. We do wrap entire cars but for most people it is overkill. I would only suggest it on a high end car or a black vehicle if you do not want to have to worry about swirl marks. With todays water based paints it is a must if you want to avoid chips and bug damage. And its nothing like covering couches from the 70s... and by the way there were no remote controls in the 70's either.
