Driver side headlight are out
My driver side headlight went out and I replace the bulb it didn't work, I think the ballast went out. What do you guys think should I go to the dealer ship and buy another ballast, did the ballast went out or? I'm thinking about changing the new 2012 headlight kit in the future.

My 07IS350 driver side headlight went out. I took the car to the dealer the HID bulb cost $175. Its working now but its crazy expensive- ended up paying about $250.

1. If it's the ballast, buy it form Sewell Lexus, it's cheaper. (about $175)
OR. Buy a used one from EBAY/AMAZON/ETC. ($65-80)
The ballast is not easy to replace. Although it can be accessed from underneath the headlight housing, getting the cable out is not as easy. I believe that cable (the one which one end is the socket for the bulb, and the other end is connected permanently to the ballast) is routed underneath the bracket INSIDE the housing, making it impossible to just be pulled out. Which means baking your headlights and taking it apart will be necessary. That's how I remember it from taking the lights apart. But if someone knows a better way, I would stand corrected.
If you got the finances to upgrade to 2011+ headlights, by all means. They look a lot better IMO.
