I want a recall on my engine!
So I have a 2006 is250 with about 113k miles and i live in Florida I bought the car a year ago and a half ago with 102k miles. The paint is perfect and the interior is perfect (besides the gay rubber dash that falls apart). I have an aftermarket Injen intake and an M2 performance axle back exhaust and a resonator delete for "performance".
Now my goal is to keep this car for another 4 or 6 years and I really would like for it to stay as perfect as possible and run as good as it does now. So i heard about the carbon build up in the engine and IF you qualify for it by getting it tested at a lexus dealer you can basically get a new engine which would be amazing in my case. Apparently it has a 9 year warranty which is also amazing. So what do you guys recommend I do to qualify for the recall and get the new engine? Or recommend I do to keep my car in perfect shape and run perfect for the next couple of years?
THANKS for all your help and input everyone is always a huge help!

You don't get a new engine they fix the issue also... I recommend you don't publicly ask people to help you commit insurance fraud
Just go into the dealer if you have the issues related to the carbon build-up issue, if you dont then consider yourself lucky and move on.

the type of gas you use has nothing to do with the carbon build up issue. its just the design of the motor and the fuel system design on the 250. they all get sooner or later, its just a matter of when. if you car is running good, just keep driving and consider yourself lucky. there really isnt anything you can do to "speed up" the process. but then again i dont understand why you would want too if your car is running good as is

I just bought a used 2010 IS 250 AWD - any way to find out if my car may have this issue down the road? I read somewhere that Lexus fixed the issue mid 2010 but don't know if this is true. For those that got recall letters - can you see the recall notice when you register your VIN at mylexus.com?

its not insurance fraud btw. its a recall. i bought my car and the next day i took it to the dealership to claim what i feel is rightfully mine. (a rebuilt engine) My friend at the dealership said he can make them misfire to get the clearance to go forward with the recall service and needless to say he did exactly that and at that time i had 52k on the car. he sent me a text message no more than 45 mins later with a picture of my car on the lift with the engine being lowered out of the car. Just go to the dealership and test your luck.

This is what CL has become? Starting threads on how to purposely get carbon build up?
There are tons of people on here that want to avoid it at all costs due to the headaches that come AFTER the recall. Plus a new engine won't fix the issue, it's due to the design of the engine. Do some research before making yourself look like a fool
