Default TPMS again...

In the SC forum we have discovered a way to disable the TPMS sensor (we disconnected 2 plugs below the head unit) and not worry about it. On the SC, the TPMS light will be on all the time when the sensor was unhooked, so some of us including me, taped over the light on the cluster, so no more TPMS light on the dashboard.

The SC has no spare hence it is quite important to know if you pressures are low, we get that.

But with due diligence (like many moons ago) we can make sure we will not be caught with a flat tire.

And yes I tried the bomb route, failed. I just sold the extra set I had.

How about the IS? Have we found a way (as an option) to disable them as an option? I see that majority of the problems are with aftermarket wheels. Also after many years the TPMS sensors will die (10 years+) and they are quite pricey to replace and not to mention the labor to do it.

I search and found a few threads about TPMS.

I don't know about SC but on IS, we also have Message center so even warning light is not on but message still there which is more annoying than just warning light

Yeah and that message center is vital if you could figure out a way around that then your set.

I dont know if pricing is different from a New sensor..

easy fix.

Get 4 new TPMS off ebay (less than 140 if you look around), have them synced to the second setting on your system and programmed. Open your spare tire, place sensors in there.

FIXED

here is a link to a cheap set
