I went to autozone today actually and got mine tested because when I tried to start the car it would sound like it wants to die and it said on there machine I needed a new battery so I asked them if they could replace it and they said they don't recommend Doing it there? But to go to the Lexus dealership since sometimes the battery's make the car not start and reset the ECU on the car and I would have to tow the car to Lexus. Sorry to comment about this on your thread but I was curious if this is true.
The ECU will reset on its own as long as you remove the battery (or ecu fuse). Our car's batteries can be replaced like any traditional car (besides cars like BMWs where you have to actually bring it into the dealership to get it reprogrammed)
FYI, our OEM batteries aren't maintenance free, there are 6 ***** on there and need to be filled with DISTILLED WATER ONLY. If you ever accidentally left any lights on and the car runs out of battery. The next day after sitting for couple hours over the night, you'll notice the car can start up again.

Mine died at the house a month ago but I used my moms car to run to autozone to get a new battery and I put it in myself. Youll have to redo your memory seat settings if you have it, and do the window rolldown thing to reset the power windows.
