What's the Best Police Radar Detector?

I can tell you Calgary Police and Kamloops RCMP uses LIDAR (laser) as I confirmed from personal experience. If CPS and some RCMP have switched over to LIDAR I bet Toronto Police and OPP have made the switch also.
With that being said. ALL mobile RADAR units are, of course, RADAR (Ka) and can't be LIDAR. The Police can also just "clock" your speed without radar OR they can turn on the RADAR right behind you as "instant on" and get your speed. Photo radar vans/trucks here are also Ka RADAR but since they are stationary they CAN be laser but aren't yet and still use RADAR to detect speed. The RADAR beams in these vans/trucks are also pointed FORWARD so detections is not that easy for those. There are also those "Speed on green" cameras at intersections here that uses the red light cameras to catch speeders. Those are neither RADAR or LIDAR, they use induction loops built in the road to get your speed so there isn't really detection or jamming against those other than paying attention and knowing where they are...or don't speed lol.
Basically, radar detectors are kinda useless. Speed enforcement is a big business.
