You'll avoid the structural integrity issue and any corrosion that might occur from having an exposed edge after cutting, although some people will just use touch up paint or clear coat to help prevent that. Plus you won't cut up your tires on the edge!
i shaved the **** outta mine 2 years ago... structural integrity is so so, nothing compared to having plastic fenders though so you should not have to worry about much. Shave in the rear for sure.... The front you could roll
I shaved the rears, and rolled the fronts. I shaved a little at first, and it still rubbed, then shaved all the way, and rarely rub now. It's been over a year since I shaved it, and even when I rub every once in a while, the rear quarter panel still looks flawless. It is a hassle to keep touching it up though.
I've never had to roll or shave fenders before, but if you first choose to roll them and end up with needing to cut/shave them...will that be an issue?
