Diy beat-sonic nt3202 (ml stereo sys)
Hi gang,
I received and installed my NAV HACK bypass harnesses today. But it did come with some headaches.
I like to give a "SHOUT OUT" to Eric from Beat Sonic. I bother the poor guy for any and all questions. He not only answered every concerns I had but was also very Proffesional.
Below is some pic's to help those like me to make the install a bit easier.
The key thing to remember is to install the two new harnesses together (for those w/ML)
and be careful not to pull back on the NAV unit to far. I broke a wire and had to get it repaired. Another shout out to John from PERFORMANCE AUDIO. He was able to repair the DVD audio cable for me. I attempted to go through the dealer but they said something about changing out the entire Harness. Right.....very disappointed with my local dealer. Anyway see photo's below-hope it is helpful. Forgive me for the mispelled words....been a long day.
Don't forget to remove the negative battary cable before starting any work on vehicle
I used the following tools to perform this task.
1 Putty knife-blade covered with tape to remove silver trim on each side of the shift lever and help pry the upper vent out of the dash.
2. Jewel's screw driver to rotate upper vent tabs to the down position and to help remove the needed wire connector's back of NAV/DVD system.
3. 10mm socket with driver to remove the four bolts holding the NAV/DVD unit and to remove the negative battary cable
4. 8mm socket with driver to remove the ash tray trim assy.
5. phillips screw driver to remove plastic piece above the pedals that holds the foot well light assy.
6. flexible wire gabber to pull wires through.
7. small pillow to cover the shift lever to help not scratch the NAV/DVD unit.

So far everything works as advertised. All I reinstalled is the NAV/DVD unit. I have not reinstalled the vents nor wood trim yet. Making sure everything continues to work properly for the next few days.
When I update this post with LARGER RED TEXT later this evening, I would like to add the refrence post for the DIY for removing the trim and unit. Copy and Paste but not sure how to do that. Could anyone inform me how to do this. I am still a beginner when it comes to computers.
Thanks...Happy Thanksgiving you all
BTW. I took Eric's (from Beat-sonic) advise. I tucked the harness with the SLIDER SWITCH (NP-TV) underneath the dash where I grounded the black wire to the vehicle. Just leave the switch in TV mode. Then for the PUSH BOTTON switch, I mounted it on my steering column (RT SIDE) where a ignition key would go on most vehicles.

looking at the diagram it looks like setting it to TV will bypass but will mess up ur location as well so we would have to reset it back to np. same thing with the nav bypass. hopefully we can get a clear understanding. can't we just leave it on TV and not engage the nav bypass. will that still cause the location to be off?

Sure.....after I button up the job. ie. reinstall wood trim and upper vent. planning to finnish day after Thanksgiving, Friday.
Everything working fine. Had a DVD movie playing on the way home from work today. Picture AND AUDIO crystal clear...
Even made my first phone call while on the move.
Made the red letters larger in the original post....The best I can do. Hope this helps you all.
