What do you guys think of this price for a '08 IS250 AWD?
Hey,
I stopped by a lexus dealership. The IS 250 awd has 30k miles, auto, dark blue with black interior, CPO, but no navi.
The list price was $27,995, and he came down to $26,995. They wouldn't budge below that number. I actually offered $26,500 and the answer was no. I walked out stating I had to think about...
Anyway, I think it sounds pretty good. Interested in your thoughts. The used car market is pretty competitive right now.
As an alternative, I had hoped to find a 2008 with navi (no CPO), but I'm having a hard time finding that locally (Chicagoland area).
Thanks,
P

You can get a better deal that that. My friend was considering selling '07 IS250 AWD for $24k-25k with under 30,000 miles. He has NAV and back-up camera too. Not sure if he's even considering it now since he just wanted a new car back then.
I got my '07 IS350 with 49,000 miles almost a year ago for $20,300. It has no NAV but does got heated/cooled seats. I purchased in October but saw the ad since August going for $26,000k initially. 1 1/2 months later, price dropped to $22,000 since it hasn't sold yet. I called and they dropped to $21,000. I went to dealer and negotiated $20,300 and they said yes. Not to mention, they changed the oil, all brake pads, brake fluid, engine air filter, and cabin filter before they sold to me. Car also had Blizzak tires so a big plus in Chicago.
Wait longer and you'll probably find a better price. Try not to buy from Lexus dealers too. I bought mine from a Porsche/Ferrari/Lambo dealer in Bensenville. Sadly, I think they ran out of business recently.

Money down has nothing to do with the dealers profit. They dont care if you put 0% or 100% down. They get nothing out of it

I got the price quote from Woodfield Lexus.
I did a little bit more research today, and I think the price is fair. It may be higher than what others have paid, but I think maybe it's due to the market conditions.
Using Cars.com, I set my parameters as such: 500 mile radius, yr 2008, and under 40k miles. There were 124 cars listed. At $26,750 it would be 26th cheapest IS250.
Setting to CPO, it drops to 30+ cars. At $26,750, it's the cheapest CPO car.
If anyone knows of anyone selling it for cheaper...PLEASE let me know!
But the price seems fair...
Thanks

CPO is definitely worth it. However, the price is very high - that's because of general used car market conditions right now. I would highly, highly recommend waiting even just a few months for used car prices to come down. I became very familiar with used 2IS prices while doing research before I bought my IS350 back in January. Since then, prices have skyrocketed. Every time someone posts a new "Is this price good?" thread on CL, the deals are worse and worse (relative to what they were only 6 months ago).
So that price might be the best deal out there for that particular car right now based on today's market. But today's used car market is very hot and prices are sky-high. That's why you're seeing everyone else posting that they got better deals - it's because they bought before the market took off.

Immediately after my son's graduation in May this year, I bought a 2008 IS250 at $19,500 from a private party for him. The timing was right, so was the price. The car with 35,000 miles on it was fully loaded by the dealer (NAV, back review camera, leather, moon roof etc), running perfectly. easy price negotiation.
