looks like the bulb just... exploded.

inferior product quality, moisture in the housing, slight spike in voltage... time to talk to DDM tuning and get some answers.

on a related note, it looks like the bulb doesn't have a metal clip for the base, unlike the OEM and high-end aftermarket bulbs (Garax, Philips)...

Who sells Garax bulbs? I've never heard anything bad about them, going to go that route next, DDM Tuning is going to take 2 weeks to get to the bottom of this, with me shipping this back and them testing it and bla bla, I cant have my car down for 2 weeks that's just ridiculous. Thanks everyone.

iirc, CLT is an authorized CL vendor and sells garax bulbs.

Maybe you touched the bulb with your fingers. If the oil on your hands gets on the bulb it could lead to premature failure.

same thing happened to me on my passenger side headlight when I had my brand new Garax 8k hids installed by tommy@musicbox. Passenger side headlight was a different color and eventually stopped working. I got replacement Garax HIDs but the passenger headlight still emits light at a different color than the driver side; along with that the light output was a bit weaker than the driver side. Had my stock HIDs put in and am gonna take it to the dealership tomorrow to get it fixed.
