Yes it applies to both the IS250 and IS350.

Wow, thanks for posting that video. I have an '07 350, so I never bothered to learn much about the pedal dance because it didn't apply to me, but I kept reading about it on CL and was curious what it was but never actually knew what it involved until now.

I've got a few questions then:

1) What was the reason Lexus made this so complicated and involved? I'd understand if they didn't want to include a traction control off button (for safety reasons, for example), but if that was the reason then why even include the pedal dance as an option?

2) How was the pedal dance discovered? Was it something Lexus was open about and just informed people, or were they intending not to release information on how to perform it and turn off traction control?

3) Was it just homage to this?

Testing purposes... both during engineering/development/testing and potentially for diagnostic purposes later when it might be useful to turn it off.

I wanna say it was known as a method to do it on a different toyota/lexus vehicle and someone tried it on the IS and found it worked there too... but you'd probably have to go back and search some mid-late 2005 posts to be sure.

And I'm pretty sure it had no direct relation to the Konami code :P
