Quick question for those that already have the previous version - if you don't want to hack the navi or use the override from Prestigious, can you still use this while driving? Or will you not be able to scroll, etc...?

^ It will work the same way your CD's work. No playlist access when in motion etc.

Infact, the dealer installed a vais ipod hookup in my car before selling it in 2006 (I got it preowned), but it doesn't work with my iphone 3g, and honestly i don't know which vais product it is

this interface will be great for iphone and ipod touch obviously. keep in mind you will need to run ios4 in order to utilize this new UI. price wise, considering that the retail is the same as sl2vi? i think it's bargain

the ipod kit in your car doesn't work with iphone 3g? how come? it doesn't play songs? or it just doesn't charge?

i might be wrong, but for 2is if there is no nav, then there is no "screen" at all right? that means this unit will be a complete overkill.

installation for 2is is pretty straight forward. from my experience, just take your time and you are good to go.

Did you mean to say video will NOT be displayed? I thought you need the hack/override module to play any kind of video while in motion.

ah sorry about the typo. yes you are correct, video will NOT be displayed. you need override or cut wire to enable it

any update on the release date?

I just read that this only supports iPod Touch and iPhone...that sucks for anyone who has an older version of the iPod as their main music player.

I last heard it was pushed back to late September. But who knows how long it will be.

I think one problem Vaistech will face is that their products are hard to update, and Apple updates iOS all the time, so they will have to solve the challenge of how to keep the adapter in sync.
