Standard air filter on F-Sport Air Intake
I am thinking of installing the F-Sport Air Intake kit, but I understand it comes with a re-usable air filter that you have to clean and I assume you then have to re-oil it with a special oil. I know Lexus offers the kit to do this, but I basically am lazy and just prefer to buy a new Toyota standard air filter and change it yearly which is what I've done with all my previous Toyota or Lexus vehicles. No cleaning, just toss and insert new. Does anyone see the downside to this? Since the Air Intake kit reuses the top half of the housing, I'm sure it will fit fine. Also, has anyone done (or know) the Lexus procedure for cleaning and re-oiling the reusable air filter? Sewell usually has pdf's of the instructions, but not for the cleaning kit. Plus I was wondering how many times can you clean and reuse these type filters before they need to be replaced? any thoughts would be appreciated.

I believe that you can go MUCH longer than a year per oiling. K&N recommends every 50K miles, depending on your driving conditions.
Now, re-oiling and overall dust removal are two separate things. But, you can easily shake out the filter and just re-use it without re-oiling it.
But, I will await Lobux's response, because he is one of the top tech guru's on the board.
