Where are you guys getting your K&N kit from

Nope, not that.I once owned a Dodge Stealth 12 yrs ago.I was able to buy a FILTER INJECTION PERSFORMANCE KIT(FIPK KIT ) FOR IT.It was the whole unit.I have been out of the performance scene for a while but I think it is called the cold air intake. It came with the filter and all the mounting brackets.

lol i dont think k&n makes air intake kits for our cars, or at least not for the 98-00. idk about the older models but i'm sure they don't make it because if they did, i would've won that instead of a k&n air intake filter from a raffle (i was supposed to win a k&n air intake system for my car but they don't make it so i settled for a bunch of oil filters and a k&n air intake filter).

I'm running a K&N filter in mine with the Lexkost intake mod. You'll find many members who swear by the OEM paper filter, suggesting it has better flow capabilities than the fibrous K&N units.

it's like they read a book on intake design and ignored every word of it. "Yes, convoluted tubing is perfect!" and "Heat soak? nah let's let the car cool down between every run so the intake doesn't really matter!".
I would have been impressed if they actually put the intakes on a flow bench and measured actual CFM on factory vs. aftermarket developed CAIs and filters....

Nothing but psychological noise. The LS intake is a great design, gets its air from in front of the radiator, not to mention k and n filters are terrible filters for filtering dirt. I live in the south west and have a 4runner I use off road (in sand and dust) had a k and n panel filter in it (the ones that replace the stock ones drop in replacement) when I removed it after using it for a while my intake was full of dust. You may gain a slight amount of power at red line but at normal cruise rpms you actually loose power.

I've seen a lot of cars dynoed on k&n filters and intakes (they're in the same town i went to college in) and none saw a loss of power at all.
They filter just fine if you keep on top of them.

No sir you loose low end power even the k and n dyno numbers show that and they do not filter fine. My 4runner had a brand new factory oiled filter from k and n. maybe if you live in the northeast but not where there is dust. It does nothing but increase intake noise and give you a little more power at wot high rpm conditions. So maybe if you drag race but no good for daily normal driving.
