Default Park Assist Question

Does anyone have it? Is it useful? How much would it be if i wanted to buy this from the dealership? I never knew it was an option until after i bought my IS.

I have it.

It is EXTREMELY useful. Protects the paint/bumpers well, especially the rear bumper.

You cannot buy this at the dealership. It is a factory-installed option.

you don't really need it unless you are uncomfortable/not good with estimating distance..well you have a camera that is enough for most...

With the camera, I could see where it may be a little useless or redundant.

However, in my case, I don't have the backup camera, so I find the PA option EXTREMELY useful.

.
I've been told just that.
I wouldn't get the PA option with the back up camera Nav package option..

I have it. It's a useful option, though I find the sensors on the bumper a bit ugly.

True.
The $500 sticker cost shows him the number..
After the purchase Lexus install would be a ridiculous cost.

The PA system can't be installed after purchase. Its integrated into the Navigation system (if equipped) and the multi-info display. It is well worth the upgrade price.

Carchitect, do you know of any adjustments that are available to the PA system (ie- volume of beep, sensitivity) with the NON-nav systems.

Apparently, the nav versions have the capability of having some user-adjustments, other than the on/off used with the < o > buttons. Do you have any info regarding this????

I have both on the car along with the Navi. They are a very nice feature IMO and can be handy in more then one way. If you have the option I say get it as it will pay for its self in the long run.

You can adjust the sensitivity and volume of the PA on the Navi Model so I would assume you can do so on the non-navi??

Definitely useful feature. I almost don't "know" where my rear is because I rely on the sensors.

The mirrors dropping in reverse is another helpful little tool.

The Nav PA systems do have 2 different distance adjustments available. Non-Nav PA systems the adjustment is fixed and the only option si turning them on or off.

I think there is a a type of adjustment in the customize setting changes. I can check it out and get back to you tomorrow. I drove the GS-R to work and back today. I was missing that 8500 redline for quite sometime.
