Paddle shifter beep

It depends on the speed and rpm you're at. For example, if I'm using the gear shift, I usually shift around 35mph which is pretty much near redline. Cruising on second at about 43mph then decide to drop into first again, it won't let me (beeps). Since 35mph is near redline, shifting from 43mph to 1st would just over rev the engine. Hope that helps, tried to explain the best I can.

Wow didn't know that either. I saw a video for IS-F but I didn't even think of it as a feature for IS 2gen.
I guess I dont' drive my car hard enough for it to let me hear the "Patience my friend, patience BEEP"

My car doesn't beep for up shifts like the IS F, I wish it did. easy to bounce 1st gear... but if I try to downshift at say 5500-6000 rpm? it beeps at me saying "no stupid" lol
