Has anybody installed 295 width tires on the rear of the IS yet, do they fit? Here is a calculator showing the difference for a 19" set-up:

Since some may ask what is the point? The point is that the sidewall profile of the front tires match the rears as this is most people's complaint with the stock tire set-up.

wellll, a 10.5" wide rim will fit in the back. probably should be more concerned about that before the tire, imo

i would love to know this as well . . . Right now Im definately wanting to go with 10" wide rim in the rear with the biggest tire i can . . . so this is some good info.

Not flaming but just wondering why y'all want to go so wide? 275's should be able to tackle anything the 350 can put out in stock form. Going with a wider wheel and tire will only add to the rotational inertia that will actually hurt the performance.

same spec as the ings one for my IS250
i still like the stretch look for rim and tire

why? it gives you ZERO wheel protection and hurts performance. I'll be in the "told ya so" line when a tire bead gives out during a hard turn.

seriously..thats just bad advice and it should be deleted

wide tire can...not mean wide rim. you can overload your rim to a degree and be fine

however wide rim DOES men wide tire...unless you want to look like a fool and be replacing tires left and right

I have personal experience with this. Bought 265's for 9.5 in rear wheels. Took a turn out of the parking lot a bit too tight and put a 3 in scratch on the edge of my passenger side wheel. Needless to say, I had 275's put on yeasterday. They will protect the rim better and they look a hell of a lot better (IMHO). Anyone need some lightly used 265/30 19's?

super old thread, I know. But if I'm reading this right, you put 19" rims in front and slapped 275s on them and they didn't rub??
