From the side it won't transition nicely but from the back it looks sweet!

I'll use it when it's parked at work in the Summer.
I just ordered a Custom Fit Sun Shade from http://www.canvasworks.com as well.

Everyone I've known that has done that in CA has gotten pulled over, and got Tickets. I don't want to be bothered by the CHP.

There are only two Dealerships in the Sacramento Area, and both are owned by the same company. Lexus of Roseville and Lexus of Sacramento. I live in Folsom, so the closer one is Lexus of Roseville.
I had the Tinting done at Tint Pros in Roseville. They have done my other cars and always do a nice job. Lexus also uses Tint Pros to do their cars as well.

CA allows 70% tint for front side windows from what I've read in other threads.

Actually that's incorrect WAWAWA. It's 88 Percent.
(d) Notwithstanding subdivision (a), clear, colorless, and transparent material may be installed, affixed, or applied to the front side windows, located to the immediate left and right of the front seat if the following conditions are met:
(1) The material has a minimum visible light transmittance of 88 percent.
It goes on to talk about some Federal Standards for Glazing that quotes the 70%. But Line 1 still applies first. 88 Percent.
Some people have gotten away with 35 Percent, but everyone I know that has tried, has had to take it off. The Roseville Police in particular are very 'No Tolerance' to front windows tinted. Regardless of driving habits.
I know it would look better with tinting on the front side windows, but it's not worth the legal hassles.
