Can plz someone help me or help with the best advice. today i got the P0430 code, which is catalyst efficiency below threshold- bank 2. What is the best way to go around this ? can i gut it , what does it do if i gut it ? if i have to buy a new one can you guys suggest good places and deals to get it from. I have SMOKE POURING OUT THE EXHAUST. and i know Toyota has parts that fix but how do i find it that fits my converter and car

is it even worth to fix it ?

2 possibilities:

1. A bad O2 sensor. You will need to plug in an OBD2 scanner with live data and check if both rear O2s are putting out voltage thats within specs. For rear O2s, that means no numbers above 0.5V with the sensor constantly moving between 0.1 and 0.5 with averages around 0.25.

2. If your voltages check out (kinda sounds like it, since you don't have any other codes for the O2s) it could be the cat(s). If one or both of your secondary O2s are outputting voltage like your primary O2s, then the cats have failed. At this point you have 2 options:

-Run a O2 sensor spacer / simulator

-Replace the cats. This usually means getting another oem header or swapping to an aftermarket piece, Dezod makes a header with cats. If you chose to run a header w/o cats, you still need the O2 sims to prevent check engine lights
