Why does my IS consume so much GAS?

My tires are actually set at 35 psi.
I would like to add, get an alignment, especially if it hasn't been done in a while.
Make sure to read the pros and cons of Seafoam. I'm wary of using the stuff, despite what people claim.

I'm wary too. As long as you always put in 91 octane, and change your oil regularly you should be fine. There are some pics of engines opened up for the valve tsb and those babies were spotless inside. This was after 3 or 4 years too!

i have yet to put a whole tank through my car but so far i've clocked 240 miles and am just below the half mark on the gauge. too bad the bottom half of the gauge drops so fast compared to the top half.
i've read that this car got similar mileage to my old GS400 so this is a pleasant surprise. i couldnt get 240 miles per tank downhill with a tailwind on that bad boy.
my IS is a 2003, manual, header back exhaust, with 2 codes on the CEL - P01420 and P01430. hopefully the mileage remains as good or improves once I iron out the CEL triggers.
