14mpg sounds OK especially since you have not said what kind of conditions you are driving in, and if you are indeed doing stop-and-go in the city. Besides, you are using regular gas. Why? Your car needs premium. So you can expect even lower gas mileage when you use regular, as your car will retard the timing to compensate for the loss in octane.

Sha Im with you I do about 14 miles of city driving and 14 miles of highway driving a day and I get just over 300 Miles to the tank. That's only to school and back, and any other trips are more so I fill up about every...6 days or so.

Lots of threads on this.

Definitely use premium as ychachad said.
On the highway, enough of us are getting better than 26 MPG with some at 30. Unless your engine is tired.
Keep excess junk out of the car...excess weight uses more gas.

I changed the air filter last week and it is looking like I got back that 1-2 MPG. I didn't think it was too dirty but it did have 30K on it. Was getting about 24-25 MPG prior to the change now it should be back to the 26-27 MPG.

what il do is let this tank finish up(1/4 left) and record the mileage. then il fill it up with some premium and see what mileage im getting. if its significantly higher, il switch to premium since the mileage benefit outweighs the higher cost, if its only like 1-3mpg more then il stay with regular/middle grade.

any advice on fuel injector cleaner or spark plugs/wire/rotors+caps? and i think the air filter was done less than 10k ago.

The car needs premium gas - mileage or not. you insist on regular after that, you are asking for trouble. premium gas is not going to double your mileage. again you don't tell us about what kind of driving you do.

even on regular gas he should still get better mpg than that, of course premium will make the mpg a little better

Default I get about 425 Miles to the full tank ...

Ever since the price of Gas went up, I changed my driving style to cruising , added more air to my tires, changed my dirty air filter and I go almost 1 week to a full tank (17 Gallons) - 425 Miles - I drive about 45/15 Highway/City Daily

hey man, that very bad....i have hit high 400's on a full tank with all highway driving and mixed driving has yielded me over 400. this was on my previous 95 LS400 with about 50k on it. The one that i just bought recently gives me about 160 miles for about 6 gallons, which is pretty good considering i have the a/c on all the time and do 60/40 city/highway driving.

Same here! 400 miles on a full tank, all highway with a/c and roughly between 300-325 city. I still have the original gas filter, air is pretty decent.
