hey im looking @ maybe getting another lexus
i got a sc300 bout idk a few months ago and i love it
some time soon im guna wana get another car
i posted this same kind of thread on the sc forum
im also looking into a 2nd gen gs300
plenty of things im thinking bout there
but biggest one is that GS's are all autos
every1 says go for that but im looking for some IS support
cause i really like it and the 5-speed is the main reason

ok budgets about 10k
i like the early ones like 2001 or so
of course 5-speed

also if anyone else has other sugestions throw em out there

all 2001 IS300s are Auto. if youre looking for 5speed look for 02 and up

also 5speed ISs are hard to come by.

hm good to know ok well i guess im looking @ a 2002-2005
also does anyone know how well the r154 or v160/1 would match up
i know in the SC300 it matches up pretty well to the body cause the Soarer had the R154 in it already and basically same body

and i just looked it up supposedly it did come with a 6-speed at some time
but i couldnt find where they switched from 5 to 6

no 6 speed in the ISs from the factory. only 5 speed W55. lots of guys who go NAT swap over the V160 or the R154 even W58.

wats the point of swapping in a w58 a turbo would ruin it
ok so its been done before all i need to know
anything else anybody got to add

i remember seeing someone on the my.is forums with a 6-speed swap, there's more 1IS members over there if you'd like to know more
