Default need help: replacing stock HID kit with an aftermarket kit.

i'm currently running into a dilemma..just recently i blew one of the ballast due to flash flooding and fried it. instead of replacing just the ballast from the dealer. i plan on purchasing an aftermarket HID kit. will i run into any issues doing so? if so what kind? and what kind of kit should i deal with? all the help, opinions and suggestions would be appreciated. (i also want to run 12k or 15k's)

you cant swap to a kit because of the type of bulb it takes and the way the ballast is set up. You will have to find a ballast out of a wrecked IS and use it or just buy the assembly and remove the ballast. As far as the 12000k or 15000k that is just the bulb that changes the color due to temperature range. I have the 30000k purple hid bulbs and I am about to swap to the 15000k blue bulbs due to a road trip. but all you have to do is order bulbs to change the color/temperature. they are only like $15 and are D2R bulbs. As far as the ballast you will have to get another one off of a wrecked car to save money or buy a new one from the dealership..
