Windshield Cost
So I just had my windshield replaced as it cracked, for total $160. I called the Lexus dealer just to see how much they would have charged. $1,100. Sewell Parts Online wants $863. Does anybody know what makes the OEM windshield so expensive?

Mine's pretty pitted too, been in the same boat as you, Edgy. Will most likely hit up safelite.com for an appt in the near future. I believe Jeff (flatline) used them before and was impressed. Website quoted $199.99 plus tax and another $16 if extra material/labor is needed.

I paid about 160-180 somewhere installed for my windshield. From what I have heard from the oem one and the cheaper ones... sometimes the cheaper windshield causes a lot of wind noise and its more noisy in the cabin... but I got the cheaper one... I can't tell the difference except that my front windshield doesnt have "lexus" stamp on the corner lol

I have to replace my windshield with the after market, for $150 install. The glass tint has a lil greenish yellow compare to the OEM. Also There are cloudy spots that cannot be cleaned off because its embedded in the glass. Also I heard these glasses are easy to crack.
