The regular maintance is suppose to be at 90k miles. Have you done that one? If u haven't then your a little late.

at 90k miles ur suppose to do the following:
Timing Belt - replace
Water pump - replace
Radiator Collant - replace
Transmission fluid - replace
Differential fluid - replace
Brake fluid - complete flush
Spark plug - replace
Oil + filter - replace
Air filter - change
In cabin air filter - change
PCV valve - change if needed

Hi John I'm a Technician at Lexus of Rockville Centre and if you are looking to have your 90k service done I do side work for half the cost. If you're interested let me know and we can schedule something.

might not want to post exact details, since lots of lexus reps read/post here. Dont want to lose your job over side work

Guys im in the middle of buying an IS300 also.Only thing is the dealer is saying that you dont need to replace timing belt & water pump @ 90k.Here goes my email conversation. Can anyone get me a link to like an official Lexus maintenance schedule,so hopefully they lower the price!

Alex,
I received the email you sent me regarding your interest in purchasing the 2001 Lexus IS300 that we have advertised on the internet. We do still have this vehicle available, however the 90k service would not have been performed since they just traded in the vehicle with 90k on it. I can get you a copy of the entire service history though. Please let me know what other questions you may have, as well as how I may earn your business today.

Well my other only question would be if you can ask the service department how much the maintenance is gonna cost me.The car is $1*,900 right now.I wouldn't want the service to exceed an amount to were I could have just gotten a newer model with low miles for the same total price. The only real serious thing I can think of would most definitely be the timing belt.Stuff like radiator fluid, brakes, spark plugs & filter is relatively ez work.I've been searching up & down for the right IS.Im an avid car guy so I do my reading! The only other 1 im seriously looking at is in Dallas.Same year with ##k miles for $1*,900.So yes that one is sounding a little better. Here goes the link:

This is the part that cracked me up!!

If you have a vehicle with 13,000 less miles for $2000 less, why would you consider this one? <--smart ***

This is gonna sound crazy to you but I REALLY DONT LIKE BROWN INTERIOR.I have it on my ES300 but its not my favorite. On the ES its ok but I really dont want brown interior on the sporty IS.I also had a good buy experience @ WestSide Lexus about 2 weeks ago and expect the same from your dealership. That white IS is not at a Lexus dealer,so I dont expect them to know the car inside out as much as you guys.

He just tells me that his internet price is firm & that the car doesnt need timing belt & water pump changed out @ 90k.Any opinions on the matter?

Should I try to bargain again with this guy or move on?I think im just gonna move on
