LED Tail light problem..
Need Help…..
I just bought a brand New LED Red/Clear Smoke Lens Tail Lights
For my 2002 IS 300. It looks great every thing works. BUT Every time when putting the car on Drive and press the brake my Tail light indicator on the dash lights up and stays on. All connections are correct its just “Plug and Play”.
So does any one have any idea?
My alternative was to put back the old stock tail lights and take the car to Lexus service dealer and have them take a look at the wirings… because before I bought the LED lights I went through 3 bulbs in a matter of 6 months from the right tail light. And two of the bulbs were not even burnt. Just the light indicator would come ON and right tail light would be off, but the Bulb is still good. ‘ Well looks like it anyways’.
Only thing is I don’t want to go and pay money and have them find nothing wrong with the tail lights…
So Yes! Its kind of confusing but any suggestion is greatly appreciated. Thanx..

why not visit the dealership w. the led tails in? ... just tell them you put these tails in, ask them to check that everything is done correctly, if they say it is, then ask why this is happening ... if that dealer doesnt want to look at your 'modified car' then take it to a different dealership

When you install the LED lights in your car the resistance is different than a regular bulb. Therefor, triggering the dash indicator light to turn on. There are two ways to fix this. Get a healer or pull the bulb from the dash. I have led tails, led sides and a dash indicator light on to. Im going to pull the bulb.

Find a load resistor. A load resistor will make the system think it's drawing the same amount of current, thus making it seem like there's a halogen bulb there. You should find them pretty easily on ebay.

if you were blowing bulbs and getting false tail light out signals take it to the dealer with the old bulbs in. true the leds will draw less and trip the light but if you are already having problems with the taillight failure box take it in.

Yah! Lexus2002 I think you right.. When I called the dealer today, the guy told me its because the LED Light is using lower voltage and its causing the light to come on.
Lilboi – Where can I get that load resistor beside ebay? Do you know any online store?? Any Links?
Well Thanx guys. I will keep you all posted. Maybe I can post a pic of the lights.
