Thumbs up Heat Shield - Product review w/pics

Hello all!!

I have had the Heat Shield for over two weeks. Its the annodized black version. Installation was about 30 minutes for me. I was able to put it in with out putting a scratch on it.. It comes with a long bolt for the rear hole which is used with a spacer, also provided, to bring out the rear ground and hose bracket. Then you use the OEM rear bolt on the front hole.
Pretty simply install.. Took me a bit longer because of my JIC STB and I dropped a bolt into a dark hole (never found it).

After a 1 1/2 hour commute from DownTown LA to Home.(LA traffic sucks, I Normally have a 1/2hr drive)
In normal & stop and go traffic.. Average speed reaching 35 mph and 70mph.. Outside Temp 70 degrees..
When I got home, I was easily able to grab any part of my intake and it was just warm to touch... WARM!! .. I couldn't believe it...!! It is usally too HOT to even touch!
I was able to touch the heat shield too.. Expecting to get burned, I only found it to be Hot in the areas covered by the second layer. But still able to put my hand on it for a few seconds.. The areas that I found to be much hotter was obviously the mounting points.

Happy Holidays!!

Nice post Joe. I wish the heatshield would fit with my PLP kit though. Seems like a quality heatshield, and I like how it's black.

Won't that heat up the headers considerably? Or whatever else is under the shroud?

This thread is a year and a half old. The pictures have been purged by Joe since then.
