Default Opinion on oil changes

Just wanted to get some feedback on optional oil -
Been running non-synthetic oil and was wondering what would be good to transition too as for synthetic oil? and exact weight and specs on oil
Car is not daily driver; drives once every 2 weeks for just 10 miles ....

Thank you in advance!

I use Mobil1 in a number of my vehicles, and have begun to do so in my F. Usually stick to the OEM recommended viscosity (application dependent), in the F 5w30.

Default Oil change?

Is It safe to keep changing oil, when mileage has not exceeded or even come close to with change….I ran my car for 700 miles within a year and changed oil every 3 months…Is that bad?

No that is good, oil loses its viscosity over time hence why the old rule of thumb was every 3 months or 3,000 miles.

Get in the car, push and hold the trip odometer reset button and push the start button twice (without pressing the brake pedal) the car should chime and this will conclude resetting the cars oil change reminder

That's complete hogwash. Oil only loses viscosity under stress. If it sits, nothing bad happens.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/car...-delivery.html See post 54 on page 4 for the final results.

All that happened here was someone threw away perfectly good oil way too many times.

The odometer will show dashes that disappear one by one during this process. When no more dashes show, you are done. I've never heard a chime at the end. I also never use this for anything, it's just an occasional annoyance. I go 12,000 miles on an oil change, so I track it with the maintenance function in the nav.
