Default Attention to ISFs that are being put away for winter!

I want to powdercoat my calipers but since my F is a daily driver so I can't afford to have my car sit for long. I was wondering if anyone would be kindly enough to let me borrow their calipers off their F and get them powercoated. In exchange, I can pay for 1/2 of the cost to powdercoat the calipers color of your choosing. This will benefit both of us! I thought I might just throw it out there!!!!

My calipers can use a new coat/color change!!!

Why don't you just offer to buy someone's used set? "Borrowing" never ends well.

lol its not as easy as borrowing.. you'd have to remove yours, put theirs on.. rebleed.. take theirs off.. rebleed again.. on their end they have to do all the work of removing it and rebleeding the brakes when they get it back lol.

Or you should of done it right the first time like me and take your time painting it..

I don't know. Your paint runs a bit from my memory. Mine is still good other than the paint chip because of the body shop had to remove my suspension and wheels when I got into that accident. They didn't take good care of the calipers

Mine ran a little because I was just spraying it straight on and I was in a rush.. if you do it slow then youll be ok.

Yeah I know. I was there. I'm thinking of a special color so powder coating is going to be most likely

Does regular automotive paint against the heat? Or did you guys have to use high temp paint and high temp clear?

I am trying to get my body shop to paint them, but they are concerned with the heat and they think the clear will not last. Last I remember reading somewhere, supposedly Lexus doesn't recommend powder coating?

Brembo doesn't recommend powder coating.. thats because you have to split the calipers and it never gets put back the same way it was built from the factory.

Thanks for clarifying! Did you use high temp paint or does any regular automotive paint work?
