I have some limited seat time in an IS-F and I have to say that it rides about equally as stiff as the E36 M3 (which I owned for four years) or maybe a tiny bit more harsh. But it's all relative.....depending upon what you're used to as far as a harsh/stiff ride is concerned. By no means is it a soft or "compliant" ride.

I also came from owning a is300 before and my car had a bit harsher ride then the IS F, but the IS F is a slight bouncer as well.
The 2012 is way below market value. They are selling for around $53-54k.

What is wrong with the car?

The car is fairly stiff, more so at lower speeds on a bad road. I traded my 2012 Mustang GT in for this and the suspension at lower speeds on a rough road is actually stiffer/rougher than it was. At higher speeds it is stiff, but less noticeable, in my opinion.

I found the car he was mentioning... http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...gIndex=3&Log=0

CarFax shows it being in an accident, front impact damage!

The car is stiff. I would get coils right away.

Is 12/10 a good spring rate to get for comfort?

Search the forum.. 12/10 may be too bouncy.. I wish at my current 14/10 it was softer.

I had 2009 ISF for only four years and covered 38,000 miles. (No modifications)

IMHO, its ride is stiff and could use improvements. The ride feels like unloaded pick up or cargo van.
I realized that with one or two rear passengers ISF ride gets notably better. But it is springy without rear passengers.

Wouldn't a stiffer spring rate be bouncier? A vendor in the forum recommended that I go with at least 12/10, and higher if I wanted to lower the car more. I don't really want to lower the car, maybe a bit in the front, but I definitely want a softer ride over rough roads than the 2011 stock suspension.

KW coilovers, right out of the box. There is nothing better IMO.
Maybe more $$$, but done right the first time saves money

To me, 2008 stock was fine. Even BC with 16/12K on about 6-8 clicks from firm is fine. Both of them is soft when compared to my 911 in comfort mode. My 911 in sport mode feels like I'm driving on rocks instead of tires in comparison.

I haven't done RA. I'm not a big fan of turn 12. I do track weekends at Carolina Motorsports Park. It's a little far but it's fun and has lots of run off.

But let's not derail this thread with track stuff...
