I disaggree, we are talking about 2% of the total oil capacity here. Some folks, not me, leave more than that in the sump when they drain their oil.

Its not about "not liking it".. But, I will keep using the filter designated for the IS-F motor. :thumb up:

Thanks

I disagree again. There was a Looong thread about this, and you vehemently defended your position. I understand where coming from, but IMHO, you are very wrong. I've inspected the filters, and physically they are exactly the same. It's not like it's a canister type filter with Anti-Drain Back Valves and Pressure Relief Valves. It's filter media, and made and sold by Lexus and Toyota. Some dealers, Sewell, sell the YZZA4 for the ISF. Third party filters are in fact built differently, but the two Toyota filters we're talking about here are exactly the same, repeat EXACTLY. The difference is that the YZZA4 contains extra pieces not necessary with the F's horizontally mounted filter housing.

I know I'm not going to change your mind, but c'est la vie

^^ Lou, the media colors are different....

The media on the YZZA4 also has the part # printed on it..

The Lexus IS-F Filter does not.. It's application specific..

Lets not continue to beat a dead horse on the "Official" information.

04152-YZZA4 is for the LX570 (Replaces 04152-38020)
04152-YZZA5 is for the IS250/350 AWD, GS350 AWD, GS460, LS460/600h (Replaces 04152-YZZA2, 31060, 38010)
04152-YZZA6 is for the CT200h (Replaces 04152-37010)
04152-51010 is for the IS-F

04152-YZZA2, YZZA3, YZZA5, 31020, 31060, 31080 and 38010 are all the same size filter element, with differing o-ring selections (YZZA2, YZZA5, 31060 and 38010 all come with 2 o-rings, YZZA3, 31020 and 31080 all come with 1 o-ring).

04152-YZZA4, 04152-38020 and 04152-51010 are all the same size filter element.

I think that about covers everything. You can use the YZZA4 for the LX570 or IS-F, no other Lexus uses the same size.

Related to the 2IS:

RWD: 04152-YZZA2, YZZA3, YZZA5, 31020, 31060, 31080 and 38010 all work.
AWD: 04152-YZZA2, YZZA5, 31060 and 38010 all work.
IS-F: 04152-51010 and YZZA4 work.

I hope that list is relatively clear, and explains what uses what.

Overfilling your oil is worse than running a quart low. The crank whips the oil into a froth and the bearings may very well see oil mixed with air bubbles. This is the kiss of death for a plain bearing. You are far better off running a little low than even a tiny bit high.
