Any opinions and experiences with AMS oil Signature Series
Hey guys, since I triggered by " High Engine Oil Temp " warning light last week at AMP ( for the third time in 3 years.)
Happens as soon as temps pass 95 degrees and you track. I love this car but it's the Achilles heal of the ISF. Although I am going to take the Summer off I was thinking it might be a good idea to move to a full synthetic. Based on my research it looks like AMS oil Signature Series is the top notch for protection and for prolonging intervals. Although I'm not looking to extend it past and additional 5000 miles over what Lexus recommends ( 10k intervals) as opposed to the insane 25k intervals they say you can do. I bought a 12 quart case, AMS filter, and shipped it was less than $125 and I got a membership so I can get 25% off. Not bad considering the amount of oil, quality, and longevity of service .
Was just curious to see what some of the resident gurus here feel about AMS oil. Has anyone used it for a heavily tracked car? Not saying it's not going to boil but the motor will have enhanced protection from breakdown at extreme temps. After reading the technical data and independent tests on this stuff it seems like it's on another level.
What do you guys think? Hype ? Worth it for an owner who changes oil religiously at 5k?
