Back again.... Questions about ML sound/volume quality

I'm getting an installer to put in an aftermarket sub and amp which will work in conjunction with the factory speakers. The factory sub is rubbish. I'll report back when the new system is in.

1st thing I noticed when I picked up the F is that the ML system was pretty weak.
I was very disappointed in it, I figured it would be a really nice system... I'll be going aftermarket (I always do), but if the big "L" stands for LOVE they no love me anymore with the weak ML system.

I would be very interested in what you did...Please keep us posted. I literally hate the ML sub and the sound that comes out of the system is junk...

Plz don't waste your time. Just replace the speakers and add a amp.
Lots of threads on the subject

I agree here. People are being unrealistic about what's to be expected with 300 watts powering 14 speakers at 3 equalizer settings. Feed in a more powerful amp for starters and then get better speakers if you're still not satisfied. I'm actually pretty satisfied with my ML system -- not as much bass as I would like, but the audio is clear from hi to low volume and the fidelity of the music is obviously there.

I also believe the ML system in my 2012 ISF is junk.
I came from a 2009 IS350 which had a pretty nice stock non ML system with awesome sound and bass response.
I was so disappointed with the ML in the ISF, I started blasting emails to my Sewell dealer letting them know the sound was lousy. I am going to keep nagging on them until they somehow take the cost of replacing the subwoofer with something that actually sounds good.
I honesty cant believe the quality of the audio coming from this system, and have to turn up music to 40-ish just to get it perform somewhat better.
Do you guys know of an aftermarket sub that would be a drop in replacement? I am not looking to drop a box in the trunk, as I prefer to keep the car stock (as close as possible)

I replaced my front door speakers. With Polk Audio comps. I wanted a cheap, but good solution. I also bought a 5 channel digital Polk Audio amp to run my 12 JL Audio Sub. Used the Audio Control LC6i for a signal. You can see all my stuff in my sig.
The Polk Audio speakers don't cost much but have proved to be great speakers. They had fantastic reviews so I rolled the dice and couldn't be happier. Only downside is I had to do a little fabrication to get them installed. Everything still looks stock though. I'm thinking all this cost just a bit north of $1000.
