New Tires
So after 15k miles I finally need new tires. How long do you guys normally go before you need a new set? I had the stock Michelin PS2s that had a 220 tread rating so I figure I was hard on the tires since I typically got above the tread rating in miles on my other vehicles. (meaning I expected to get over 22k miles on the tires)
I am planning on ordering a set of Michelin PSS and was also planning on going with wider tires. Tire sizes I'm considering based on what is available for the PSS are:
Fronts 245/35-19 or 245/40-19
Rear 275/30-19 or 275/35-19
From previous posts I expect those sizes would fit. The main differences being the rolling diameter of the wheels. One size is smaller and the other is larger then stock size and will affect the speedo.
From those that have gone with wider tires especially those that kept stock rims what are your recommendations based on comfort, handling, and speedo accuracy. I'm also willing to consider other sizes as well.
Also this is my 30th post so I finally get rid of that nagging message

Heavy car, soft tire. Treadwear ratings can not be compared from vehicle to vehicle or brand to brand as it is an arbitrary number. 15K on a set of PS2's is good in my opinion. I got 17 but was down to cords on the inside edges. I would expand your search to PSS tires as they are the latest and greatest from Michelin and less expensive.

The original bridgestones lasted 30k miles until the fronts gave out. The continental DW's I put on at 30,000 miles, well the rears are getting close to retire at 44k miles(14k miles on tires) I blame the headers. I just bought another set of the DW's off ebay.

^^^^I had the DW before I put on the S-04, and the noise from them drove me crazy. They developed a sing at about 6K miles and I finally replaced them at 9K miles. They still handled well (the S-04s are better) but I couldn't tolerate the noise. Discount Tire took them back with very little out of pocket cost to me. I tried dealing with Continental Tire Corporate before Discount Tire, and their customer service was terrible. Discount Tire, on the other hand, were great to work with.
Therefore the Continental DW gets no recommendations from me. I cannot recommend this tire

And it turns out i think a lot of people run the Continental DW tires...
I'm a Bridgestone fan...but for my next set of tires, I might get Michelin PSS. We'll see...it seems like Michelin tire pricing fluctuate quite dramatically. A set of PSS right now in OE tire specs is actually cheaper than a set of RE11s

Hmm. Was getting ready to order new tires based on what my dealership said when they did my 15k maintenance but when I got my car back I think I can get a couple thousand more miles on these tires.
