Nicest-Cleanest-BEST-NON-Rice-9005 DRL LED???
I've been cautious about changing my DRL's, because I get the feeling there is more negative feedback from them then positive. Between the flickering complaints, and the going out on people, I haven't totally decided if I do want to bother with this mod. Does it really look THAT much better then stock, that it's worth all the hassle that might come with it? I have changed essentially all other lights worth changing on the car into LED's (Minus the LED's behind the Navi/headunit..which I want to do soon). I know there's also a relay that I might have to buy with it? What's up with that? Am I better off just getting the DRL completely turned off by the dealer? What do you guy's think.
For those F, or even ISX50 owners who have done this mod, post up your pictures of the brightest/cleanest NON RICE LED's you have installed.
THANKS!

I like the fact that by dealership disabling them, you maintain your high beams correct? And by using a 9005 LED, you no longer have them...
JOSHIS--- Those bulbs look pretty clean, are they V-led ones?
Make sure you guy's post which Bulb your running!
The purpose of the thread is to expose if this is a worthwhile mod members could do. At this stage in the game, I have only seen 1 IS350 with them done. It was daytime and I could barley tell they were there(not-bright) I don't know what bulb he was running, I don't know the owner. Not sure if the bulbs CL members are running are much better(always is the case) but how's daytime attractiveness??? Whenever I see an approaching Audi/Porsche with their LED's...I think how clean.

Josh and Yeah... yall's cars look sick with those lights.
DRL... this is one of those reasons why other countries around the world hate us... Not only do we have lights for the night (some of them may not even have this), WE HAVE LIGHTS FOR THE DAY.
And according to recent polls... The sun tends to be out during the day time hours. Hmm thats interesting

Thanks
Not sure on brand. Ill get that tomorrow. Its a Japanese brand. Ill try to get site when i go to visit my local shop...Mine are pretty bright.
When i turn on the highbeams at night the drls kick on and make it alot brighter. Also shoots farther. IMO it suffices for a highbeam. Dont mind the Vip Puddle lights (Only on when dome is on). Only pics i had of high beams on at night....

yes if you have the DRL disabled, you'll still have the high beam function. If you switch to LED DRL, what happen when you turn on the high beam is that the LEDs would still turn on and the light will illuminate the region in front of the car, but the light of these LEDs don't really project forward much, and so functionally you lose the high beam compared to the stock halogen. If you have OEM HID though, the HID lowbeams will shoot up higher when you turn on the high beam so you'd still have some sort of 'high beam' because of that.
i have the vleds 68 M-SMT LEDs (like in the following link, but in white color) with the 9005 DRL module (one on each side) that eliminates the flickering (link below). Very easy installation, and the module fits inside the light housing.

However, it seems vleds is discontinuing the 68 LED (may be?) since i can't find the white one anymore. They have the new 28 2x brighter LED (below), which would be brighter than the 68 LED, but extra relay harness is needed according to the description, which i'm not familiar with.

i love the way they look during the day, and they are very visible. makes the car stand out for sure. call me crazy, but since i don't use the high beam, personally i'd rather have these LED DRLs than disabling them haha

for the DRL's, i had rallye lexus turn them off (still leaves the high beams enabled, took dealer only 5 mins to do). if anything i'd rather have the foglamps on with the drls. too bad it requires splicing and a switch which i did not want to do. plus too many bimmers are running that style around here on the east coast from what i've seen.
your car looks nice in pics! i say leave it alone before you wake up one day and see you did rice it out. no one here gives a clear description on where to draw the line on what is "rice" but i know you're near me and every civic/maxima/g35/vw/bmw have the same light mods now that we're talking about. to me, that's enough to join the rice crowd no matter what brand you choose.
