Question for all the Obsidian Owners?
Ok, what's the deal with swirl marks? Are they there forever? Can they be polished away? Just got my car back from the 1600 km inspection, and there are swirl marks ALL OVER THE F'N PLACE!!!! I have now told them to NEVER wash my car again!! NEVER!!!

THANKS GOD!! Why would a company like Lexus let some dumbass with a dirty rag clean the cars!! I have blobs of some white cream in spot all over. There are water marks everywhere. Sections that were not even touched. I would have been better off with a dirty car.

When I take my car to Lexus for the oil change I hang a note on the dash that says "DO NOT WASH, DO NOT VACUUM!! JUST SERVICE" They run it through the wash and half *** dry it with a dirty towel and leave water spots all over. Pissed me off when they washed it and left it looking like crap and when I took it in it was spotless. Car never see's rain and I hand wash it. Needless to say I took it back and they detailed it back to showroom condition on their time.
I had a black car back in the day and said never again. Then I ordered a IS-350 black and hated the swirl marks and trying to keep clean. Traded it after 11 months for the Blue IS-F. Now I know for sure I'll never buy black again. Gorgeous cars but impossible to keep showroom clean.

Swirl marks are the biggest pet peeve of any car owner, especially dark colored cars. You can take steps to maintain the finish but there is no real way to prevent swirls from happening. You can do preventative maintenance to help hide the swirls. Your best bet is to wash the car yourself and use the right tools to maintain your IS F's finish.
