Any IS-F owner here owned IS350 or currently own IS350?
My last car was 2006 IS350 and I traded in for IS-F two weeks ago. I feel like my IS-F is not as responsive as IS350. With IS350, when I pressed on gas, it just goes. With IS-F, when I press on gas, it will pick up after a few seconds. Feels like IS-F is slower than IS350 eventhough stats say otherwise. I tested IS-F both normal and Sport mode. Sport mode feels faster but not as much as I expected... May be it's just in my head...
I was wondering if I can get opinion from people who have experienced both cars?

first of all you have to break in the engine....let says about 600 miles is good....although a lot of people would disagree with me, but from experiences, its worth it.
second, are you driving it in manual mode with sports on? or just sports on D? cause that makes a difference...i do it manual all the way with sports on and vsc off.

Let it break in and you will feel the result. 681 is the magic number, but most will wait to 1,000.

Well, the IS F feels a lot more heavy than the is350. I admit that the is350 is quite nimble, but IS F can really haul ***. I havent driven the IS350 in awhile, maybe ill go talk the wife into switching for today. She prefers is350 over the bimmer though.

I owned an IS350, then a 335i and now an IS-F. I will tell you that the IS-F is DEFINATELY MUCH FASTER than the IS350. The one thing I think you are referring to is the thing I like most about the IS-F. Below about 3k rpm, the IS-F is like an IS250...soft, smooth, linear, etc...but above 4k, it's a completely different animal. That, coupled with the fact that the IS-F does NOT downshift right away in D when mashing it leads to the perception you are feeling. Put her in SPORT and mash the throttle, she downshifts and goes much quicker.

i currently own both and i agree completely with houstonT..my 350 always feels like it wants to go..i think it has something to do with the fact that the isf has 8 gears..the 350 always seems to be in the right gear. in these times, im very happy that my isf drives like a 250 at low rpms..gas is expensive, but if you put it in sport mode and stay above 3000 rpms, you feel the difference and its obvious how much faster the isf is. i also drove them both at the track and the difference it even more noticeable...

That is what I noticed, below 3k rpms the car feels like a IS250. It left a bad taste in my mouth from test-driving it from items like that. It kills me when I read some of this stuff. I hear the same stuff over and over about the IS-F. It has be in sport mode/manual mode and it has to adapt to you.

Big difference.... I always drove my IS350 in sport mode and I always drive my ISF in sport mode. Once the car is broken in you'll be able to step on it and that's when you'll see the difference.

I haven't taken my car past 4k yet...I think most of the time around 3k range..may be that's why if feels "slow/laggy". I will try and take it above 4k range after I break it in. Thanks for the feedbacks.
