tire life and real world mileage
I did do a search but there wasn't too much data here on either of my questions.
Our old Gen 1 IS300 ate tires mercilously. It was our daily driver and we didn't race, autocross, or smoke the tires but we could not get more than 10,000 miles out of the 17" tires on that car.
Since that's the same kind of mileage I got on my rear tires on my old NSX and what I expect to get out of the rears on my Carrera S, I'm a little curious. How are the tires holding up on your IS-F's?
Also, what kind of real world MPG are you getting. The EPA says 16/23 which is about what my old 1997 LS400 was rated at and we avg. 19 mpg in mixed driving.
I realize a lot of variables can go into both tire life and mileage but we're thinking about a daily driver change and the IS-F is an intriguing choice. As odd as it seems to care about tires and MPG in a $60,000 car those are considerations for us.
Thanks in advance.

geting bout 15mpg in town driving but i hit the gas alot tho, so it could be higher. I know this cause my isf display my mpg if i switch to it. I also think that on the lexus web site it stated in fine print bout tires life span to be anywhere from 10,000 to 15,000 miles depending how driving condition. Hope you get the car tho, its very nice and fun to own.

I'm averaging about 19 mpg. I think 10K miles is about all you could expect for the tires. Probably less because it's hard to restrain yourself from doing a smoke show every once in a while.

After 4 months and 5k miles I average 19 MPG in city driving and on a 1200 mile trip 2 weeks ago I averaged 27MPG on the highway cruising at 75MPH. I was really surprised with the highway Mileage. It was way over what the window sticker said.

Thanks everyone. I would expect that with the 8 speed tranny, the IS-F will get very good highway mileage. I'm glad to see that side street and mixed driving isn't all that bad.
We're seriously considering it. We did the event in Fontana last weekend and my wife absolutely loved the car. I'm just reluctant to give away all the utility of the LX that we daily drive now.
Any more input?

My dad actually just sidelined his LX470 and bought an IS-F yesterday. I knew the 8 speed would be good for better than 23 mpg on the highway as the window sticker states.

I'm averaging 19 mpg mixed city/hwy driving. The worst i've gotten so far is 14.1 mpg romping on the pedal most of the time.
