Default Help with RR Racing Tuned Intake System Installation

Hello, I usually just lurk the forums but I ran into a dilemma while installing RR Racing Tuned Intake System with their RR Racing Polished Intake Elbow.

I'm nearing the end of the installation process but I can't seem to figure how to install the intake piping after the 90° elbow. I can't tell if the black fabric silicone outer and orange inside that was supplied with the elbow is supposed to be on it or to off. With it on it seems too long and the filter pipe can't attach to the MAF pipe. With it off it seems too short and it can't attach at all. The first picture is with the fabric silicone off and the second is with it on. I tried call RR Racing but they seemed closed at this time.

I just installed mine today. Use the black silicone one with the new intake only, not the fabric silicone one. You will need to adjust the angle of the intake elbow and also the black silicone connector to be able to be long enough to attach all the pieces together. Note, I used a JoeZ intake elbow so it maybe a bit different than yours however.

This is how mine came out. Mine just came with the fabric one though. I know the clamps aren't even. I'll adjust them next time I'm under the hood.

Thank you jat0223 for the picture! It seems like it's the black silicone on the right side of the MAF housing that is giving me trouble with the fitment.

Hey,

Have you tried swapping the black coupling around so the flat end is attached to the cone filter, and the curved end is protruding through the airbox?

Only jat0223 photo seems to show a flat connection on the intake pipe side, and there is a lot more connector visible than in your photos?

Best of luck getting it sorted.

connect all your tubing 1st and the honey cone last insert inside the airbox and then seal it . Dont tighten all your bolts so tight , because u need some room to adjust them before u tighten down

Hi Guys... We are really sorry. We sent a few intakes out with a connector that was too short. Actually the connector we shipped you fits a JoeZ or our Titanium intake, but is not quite long enough for our polished intake.

We are switching to a non-ribbed smooth black connectors and should have them tomorrow --- will mail it out to you immediately.
