GS-F or RC-F seats in an IS-F?
So I was wondering if anyone has done this yet. After sitting in the 3IS in the Lexus dealership I so didn't want to go back to my uncomfortable IS-F seats. I also noticed that you can buy GS-F and RC-F seats on ebay.

I'm assuming at least one person has done this. I think I saw a thread where someone attempted the 3IS seat swap for the 2IS. My biggest concern is that if the seats will be functional or not. Comfortable seats is one thing but when you spend some serious bucks you expect everything to work like the ventilation and the heat. I also have no idea if the GS-F is more comfortable than the 3IS because my dealership keeps their ONLY GS-F locked up so I couldn't sit in it . Any thoughts?

GS-F and RC-F have the same front seats. Check out this thread on page 3 where a member put rc-f seats in his is-f.

Our is-f seats seem to be a hit and miss. Most reviews have found them to be some of the most comfortable among sport sedans (ie m3/c63's). I personally find them really comfortable but I'm not particularly big or tall at 5'8". I also prefer my F seats over the 3is/fsport nulux.

I luv the stock ISF side bolstered seats, comfortable and hold me snugly during aggressive maneuvers. But, I'm of average size, maybe a bit smaller. Not like one of our members who is taller and says:

taller men get the girls, get the job, and are paid more too LOL Positives and negatives baby!!!

I'm not that big myself as I'm a skinny asian dude ( 5'7" ) but I'm not fond of the seats. I like the more "squishy" feel to the 3IS seats and the LS seats although the LS seats would totally out of place in an IS-F. From what I've seen from other threads is that some people were able to custom fit the seats but couldn't get the heated / ventilation hooked up due to different harnesses. I don't use the heated seat feature myself but... if I'm paying RR-Racing supercharger money for some comfy seats then I hope to get the bells and whistles that come with it lol.

There is a guy on Facebook from Puerto Rico who has them and has sold them to a few other guys. Its rare but I have seen it twice now. Looks great

I find the rc-f seats have more bolstering around the thighs. During my short test drives of the rcf and gsf, I didn't find the side bolstering that impressive. That could just be because the seats are larger and the isf's are more snug though. Visually the rcf seats do seem more appealing though.

long term update. Now I have both seats - the RC F/GS F seats and the IS F seats. I like the IS F seats better. The later model seats seem to be much harder for no good reason at all. I would not swap my IS F seats for RC F or GS F seats.

ISF bolsters felt better and held you in but they wear much easier than the rcf/gsf seats. took at 2 hour road trip and it was pretty comfortable. ISF was comfortable but 2 hours, you would see my butt imprint in the seats. Most who want to switch over are doing it more for looks. looks like race seat from the back window and front window.
If you want it purely for holding you in the seats around corners, its not worth it at all and i would keep the ISF seats are get better racing seats.
If you want it purely for looks with OEM functions and brand, it could be worth it. I personally liked the seats in the ISF.
